Reflections on Year 3 of Highwall Music Festival
My journey of planning a music festival started over three years ago now. We finished the last round back in early August. Despite getting rained on for the duration of the first day, the second day went off without a hitch. I’m not sure what the future holds for the festival, but I feel privileged to have met so many talented folks who have helped me pull it off. A huge thanks goes out to the Tamarack Foundation and National Endowment for the Arts. Their funding the first year made all of this possible. Additionally, Devils Backbone Adventure Resort’s infrastructure buildout and funding of the festival over the last two years has been instrumental to its success. Talks will start soon about whether or not a year 3 happens for sure, but regardless it’s been quite the ride.
